Overview

Last week, we worked together to begin planning our demonstration lessons. This week, you read about two teachers' use of portable technology to support classroom inquiry. Tonight you will explore, analyze, and share some technological tools aimed at enhancing science learning.

Learning Goals

By the end of this week, you should be able to
  • describe unique features that some learning technologies can bring to science teaching.
  • describe software environments and discuss their unique features.
  • discuss the challenges and benefits of using technologies in schools.

Demonstration Lesson Redux: What do Students Take Away?

  • What are student doing while you're talking? What record will they of the lesson?
  • What were some features of the worksheet from the Netlogo activity?
  • Work in pairs to begin a student worksheet that serves as a record/activity for each of your lessons.
  • Post the finished worksheets and link them to your lesson plans before next Monday.
